Broken thumb
« on: July 18, 2010, 12:32:31 am »

My dwarf has a broken thumb that doesn't seem to heal.  The only comment on the z-Health screen is X! broken tissue.  The dwarf has been out and moving around for a while and seems to go about normally.  Do I need plaster powder or something for this?  It's the only medical supply I don't have.  Or is this some holdover bug?

Freshly built 31.10 world.  Thanks.

You need plaster powder to make casts, and it probably needs a cast to heal.

Give an elf a fire and he's warm for a night. Drop an elf in magma and he's warm for the rest of his life.

thanks to the both of you.

I found it strange that there was no message that I needed a cast or plaster powder.

You'll only get that message if you have a bone-doctor dwarf who attempted to set the bone but had no powder to do so. Make sure you have something assigned to do that.

So there's that, as well. It looks like the only chronic problems that water can't cure are nausea and cave spider bites.
Which, coincidentally enough, can be cured by magma.
