I can't go up or down levels?

I'm not positive that this is a bug, so I didn't stick it in the Bug forum...

With the newer versions I choose a spot to embark and it gives me the "Are you sure you want to embark here? This is your only warning" or somesuch... regardless of where I choose to settle.
Neither * nor / work to change levels. I'm stuck on the starting level.

Have you downloaded a new mod or graphics pack?  Vanilla DF doesn't use / and * to change z-levels, and there is an init option to always warn on embark.

Yeah I've been using the May Green version for as long as I can remember.
What's the standard version's keys for going up and down levels?

pretty sure its shift plus the + or - keys on the numpad

If nothing else works, try < and >. That's what I always use. Sorry if you already thought of that.
