I appear to have been out of the loop a little, since I can no longer find the bug about dwarves having once been assigned to a military squad never ever working in their civilian professions again.

Has this been fixed? Can I safely un-assign dwarves from their squads to make use of their industrial qualities again?
Or am I merely misunderstanding this?

EDIT: Have found it mentioned as "inconsistent" in the wiki, after all. And I almost think I saw some of my military dwarves go and do productive things in their spare time. Might've been my imagination.

They do civilian work if their self-discipline is not high enough to warrant individual combat drills too often.
