Embarkable towers back
« on: October 09, 2010, 04:27:55 pm »

I suggest reimplementing the goblin towers and cities as embarkable areas. Destroying or taking over them in Fortress mode has been one of the most epic fun times ever. Hasn't been possible since .13-.16.

Engraved on the monitor is an exceptionally designed image of FPS in Dwarf Fortress and it's multicore support by Toady. Toady is raising the multicore. The artwork relates to the masterful multicore support by Toady for the Dwarf Fortress in midwinter of 2010. Toady is surrounded by dwarves. The dwarves are rejoicing.

Actually, a cooler idea would be "Dwarven War Party". For those who want to jump head-first into combat, you attack a town with some military dwarves, take it over, and build a fort from there. You could take prisoners from the town, and it could be a constantly feuded-over spot. That would be epic.

This makes me think of how Dwarf Fortress could be made into a multiplayer world.  One person makes a fortress, which is attacked by goblins.  They hire another person (ingame) to lead an army of their people to the goblin town and take it over.  Then, that person owns that town and the other person can send supplies to him.  As long as he holds that town, it will be attacked instead of the parent fort.
