I only played it for a month, didn't have an appeal after that.

And that's why we make our guild!

I got to choose a profession, so i went with jeweller, I was thinking either that or historian, but historian doesn't seem to have any gathering skills so its entirely reliant upon other classes. Might change it, depending on how jeweller works out though.

Its kinda annoying the way you cant pick and choose which 3 professions you want to go in your vocation. Why do i want cooking as a jeweller? That just seems to be stuck in there cause they couldn't think of anywhere else for it to go. And why would a historian know how to forge swords?  ::)

Anyway, I'll be on later on so should be able to group up then if you're about.

I'm an armourer.

And, yeah, the only REALLY self sufficient skills seem to be Woodsman and Explorer. I've made a warden for the sole purpose of converting these damned leathers.

yep, that is why crafting is very expensive, in either time or gold. I did try to harvest everything myself, by having 4 characters, and I got burned out on that pretty quick, but the good news is it is all the more reason to create a kinship, just as long as everyone kind of levels at the same rate.

IIRC Historian is a gathering class, or scholar is. Collect urns and the like.

Ahh that makes sense then, the description made it seem like a crafter rather than a gatherer.

Similar to DDO, this is going free to play soon.

I will give it a try then. ;)

I played the trial a long time ago.  Once I've got my new computer and it goes Free to Play, I might join you guys.

Now all we need is for Conan to go Free to Play.  Maybe some people other than the developer's moms will play it then.

Weird that this suddenly got necroed, I canceled my subscription to Lotro less than an hour ago.

They're going to beta the F2P first, by the way, there are a few sites giving beta keys out, so you can F2P before anyone does. =p

Here's the mmorpg.com contest:

Been betaing, via fileplanet (with bonus turbine points! Whee). Right now they are a bit heavy on the micro purchases, need to get them to tone it down a little bit. The nice thing though is you can gain free turbine points by doing Deeds/achievements

When I was playing every single name I entered was 'taken' already. I just gave up then and there if it was so over-populated.

Play on a less populated server, or something. I might consider playing this when it goes F2P if the F2P aspect doesn't necessitate grinding like DDO.
