console: revival!
« on: July 05, 2010, 02:31:44 pm »

I just wanted to announce the revival of console (with benefits for pixel artists and designers!) as I've got some  more time to work on it now thanks to extra help over at the Cowed front.

If you guys are still interested, feel free to apply to help create a game. Hope to see you on the other side!

Your pal,
Data (Mood: :o)

P.S. Please don't ban me. :-X

We don't ban people on these forums for drawing attention to things that people on the fora may genuinely interested in. May look at it again... although I tend to get bored with programing.

Where's the link to apply for a tester position? Looked on your forums and couldn't find it.

Your artist quip states, I need you to draw the hardware, but it's based on my design.
So your saying you want us to draw exactly what you tell us with a preset design leaving us almost no creative input on the drawing.
Bad idea.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

What I'm saying is that I'll let you guys draw the stuff and come up with a design, but I'm going to have to change it if it isn't going to work out. Which is a good thing, since I'll be using it to prevent stuff like people making the icons for a teleporter that can go anywhere with perfect accuracy and no side-effects, which would suck when it's used against you by the only person who has a patent on it, who proceeds to steal your valuables and run.

Let me assure you that my intention is not to disrupt your creativity, but rather to prevent this "feature" from being abused. I don't want to end up with a bunch of super weapons in the game that lead to nothing but trouble, but have nothing against people coming up with reasonable suggestions. And I'm not going to finalize it unless we've talked it over and we agree on the idea.

Oh.
Makes much more sense when you elaborate on it.

Since the wipe, I have decided to move into my own place. If anyone wants to learn the basics, I can help you :)
