Well I made beer and bedrooms and meeting place.  No more dwarves standing near the wagon that is very far away from my fortress.  Oh well.  I also managed to get all the supplies into the caves.  I just need to work on my organzitional skills.

Having trouble getting a farm started.  Need to work on that.

Also do you need smooth stone before you can engrave it?

Yep, you also need to smooth it before you can turn it into a fortification, and you need to wet the ground before you plant it, even soil (Bug)

Only in dwarven culture is alcohol poisoning a death worthed investigating, while being impaled through several toes, a eye, and a thumb from a spiraling water[3] is not.  Because everyone knows, the only way a dwarf could get alcohol poisoning is if someone put poison into the alcohol.

Be sure to build a door, and put it at your entrance. You usually don't run into building destroyers until later on, and nothing can get through a locked door. Also put an animal on a chain outside, preferably a war dog, but any works. They are really good for catching thieves and such.
