Grouping burrows?
« on: June 29, 2010, 02:07:26 pm »

Something that annoys me about burrows is they took out the simple "dwarves stay inside" order and during sieges/ambushes this was useful just to keep most of my dwarves still working while I went to bloody battle.  Now, with burrows, I'm forced to either (lazily) create an intricate network all around my base exclusively assigning dwarves everywhere if I want them to work during these sieges, or just create a large "OH SHIT HIDE" burrow on my food stores.

So, the thought occurs, would it be possible to make it so you could group multiple burrows into one? That way I could effectively make my entire fort (or enough of it) one burrow and I could have all my dwarves continue with their lives everytime I have to deal with a few gobbos

Couldn't you just define 1 burrow as "Inside" and keep adding to it as you expand?

Ooh, new thought, have a option to set a burrow as "default" and any time you dig out an tile it is automatically added to the default burrow.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.
