Here a quote from the Dutch keeper, regarding Luis Suarez:

Quote from: Stekelenburg
I think he should get the Lev Yashin Award

(The Lev Yashin Award is given to the best goalkeeper in the tournament, if you didn't know)

Actually, they're both on Ajax.  So I assume it's just some friendly poking.

Either would be epic.  If Spain wins, we will have a battle between two nations who have never won.

Ah, but the octopus was also wrong when Germany played Spain in the UEFA Championship final.  Perhaps it is wrong now, as well? :P

Lets see what maths says

Brazil won the World Cup in 1994; before that they also won in 1970. Adding 1970 + 1994= 3964

Argentina won its last World Cup in 1986; before that they also won in 1978. Adding 1978 + 1986= 3964

Germany won its last World Cup in 1990; before that they also won in 1974. Adding 1974 + 1990= 3964

Brazil also won the World Cup in 2002; before that they also won in 1962. Adding 1962+ 2002= 3964

Therefore if you want to know what nation is going to win the World Cup in 2010, you only have to subtract 2010 from the magic number that we have determined: 3964. 3964-2010 = 1954... In 1954 the World Cup was won by Germany!!

Actually, an octopus could count to 255.

That's assuming that each tentacle can only take two positions. In reality, its upper limit would be determined by n^8-1 where n is the number of positions available.

EDIT: Technically, it could count higher than that. The octopus would have n8 different possible arrangements of its tentacles, and it can assign any number to each of these arrangements. We just say it can count up to n8-1 because if we include 0 and every positive integer, that's the highest integer it will be able to represent with its tentacles.

So the question comes down to: what is n?

Even if it can only recognize five positions for its tentacles, that gets to be 390,625.
