Perhaps from the jobs screen. That's currently very under-used.

A manual override for whatever task a dorf is doing so he can rush to the drawbridge lever would be nice.
But otherwise, that lever just should be placed in the main dining room with a few useless haulers nearby to pull it. Also, there's the solution with lever -> manager profile -> assign dwarf. But that's the noble levers as far as I'm concerned.
