It hardly proves anything, beyond that the antigen is present. You are not really finding out anything about the risk for a random allergic person to have a serious attack.

Plus, it's possible that those reactions are not induced by the particles that remain after the filter, but by direct inhalation after someone has opened a bag nearby. In that case, your test might well yield negative results without signifying an absence of risk.

Isn't that what part of people's problem is? Peanut dust circulating in the air, having to breath it for two hours?

Which the peanut free zones are supposed to address. We already know directly inhaling from stuff right out of the bag can cause a problem. If you want to talk prolonged exposure though, you need to check it's circulated presence AND how well it is handled by air filters.

I blame this thread for inspiring in me a sudden intense craving for peanut salsa.

If it's this difficult to figure out how to test whether peanuts are harmful to people who are allergic to them, maybe we should just ban peanuts from the airplanes and not waste resources on this shit.

Air Canada doesn't even give us peanuts. We get Hockey Puck brand cookies. Sometimes I think I've misread the label and they're actually Cookie brand hockey pucks.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?
