My first reclaim in 2010

From the logs of Thrash Logel, expidition leader on the reclamation of Namalina.

3rd Granite 1053. Got the merchants report on my standard equipment order.  Cave fish and cave lobster were backordered.  so they returned 32 buckazoids.  There must have been some mistake because I only ordered one of each.  I reported this to the merchants and found that they did in fact HAVE a large supply of cave fish and lobsters.

5th Obsidian. I've arrived on site.  The last report from the old colony reported that there was over 200,000 buckazoids worth of architecture, on the site.  Damned if I can see it but the trader who came with us verifies the information.  Must be a tax loophole.

6th Obsidian. The goblins who massacred the old colony are hanging arround picking lint of their tertiary bellybuttons.  I don't trust this but the weapons they used to slaughter our cousins are just lying arround rusting.

11th Obsidian. All the old farmable land has dried out and no lnoger farmable. I odered the main exploratory shaft deepened.  We'll be in big trouble if we cann't get some lichens.

12th Obsidian. The miners found Magma! an ocean of magma! I've never seen so much magma in one place before.

1) we normally call "buckazoids" dwarfbucks but whatever floats yer boat
2) should be in stories forum
3) despite my critsism I like it with its simplicity, keep it up!

Eh... wasn't meant to be a story, just a couple... wtf/bug? moments I had plus some site braggin :P

Didn't name him Urist.  But I did glue a beard onto that hangs to his navel. It's awesome.

Remember, once your dwarf baby reaches one year old he can be used as a laborer to gather crops and remove constructions. It's dwarf law.

THE wtf bug with reclaims in DF2010 is the disappearance of all cavern mud.

I would have to play with it, but I think getting "exposed" to the surface changes some hidden flag that results in it being considered an open cave or something.  I've since found other cave sections @ the site including the thing that raised my archecture value.  No mud there either.  Although I'm not sure if the cave systems are connected or indipendent.

Wouldn't be surprised if the farming mud drying up was intentional. It makes sense to me that mud would dry up after a few years..
