Kobold Thief Raid?
« on: June 12, 2010, 12:22:29 pm »

Ok, was playing a new fort, first year there, near the end of winter.

Not my first fort, but it was the first to get hit by a band of kobold "thieves".

Multiple sword kobolds, regular kobolds, etc.

There were almost as many kobolds as dwarves.

I only had 14 dwarves at the time.

Is this normal?

Yes I've had this happen to me too.

I think that you probably embarked near a Kobold settlement or an evil area or something, as it won't always be like that.
If you don't want to start again you can turn off invasions in the Data\Init\d_init file until you have built up some defences.

Nah, no fun in that. I'll just make a military a bigger priority.

They'll also raid you if they manage to steal something (Or a couple somethings) that are particularly valuables, slim pickings in their mind.  At least that was the way in 40d.

Only in dwarven culture is alcohol poisoning a death worthed investigating, while being impaled through several toes, a eye, and a thumb from a spiraling water[3] is not.  Because everyone knows, the only way a dwarf could get alcohol poisoning is if someone put poison into the alcohol.
