Any difference between plant and silk for medical use
« on: June 06, 2010, 10:40:21 am »

Just curious. Cave Spider Silk costs 1/2 as much as Pig Tail fabric, which makes me curious as to why the default embark brings pig tail cloth for bandages instead of the much cheaper silk. Can both types of cloth be used to for bandages and sutures?

I've heard of dwarves using adamantine threads for medical uses. They won't care what the cloth/thread is made of.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

More exactly, they prefer to use the most expensive thread available. Probably the same is true of cloth, so they bring more expensive cloth by default.
