Community games?
« on: June 03, 2010, 10:09:51 pm »

I recently got back into DF and I want to know how I can download a community savegame and actually get it to work on my DF. Any help would be appreciated. I'm on latest version with Phoebus graphics pack.

Thanks

the latest version has made individual savegames even more self-contained.

you follow the link given to download the save game.
Unzip it into the DF/DATA/SAVE sub-folder of your dwarf fortress folder.
and that's all.

I tried that as it seemed the most logical thing to do. When I open DF, it doesn't show up in the load option.

Which community game where you trying to open? If you tried to open a game from version 40d## it won't work on the current version, 0.31.##. You'll need to either find a fortress from the latest version, or use 40d##.
