Are you kidding me!!! And with Thomas Mcarthy!!! But it is a TV show.... still, when exactly does it come out and on what channel!?!?!? I need to know before I friggin' explode!!! (Or is it actually a movie and I just stink at reading for content?) Oh, and is your screen name an allusion to the books?

Most of my reccomendations have been mentioned, but I personally would reccoment "Looking for eric" - I rather enjoyed it myself.

Also, anything and everything from the wallace & gromit series of movies.

It'll be a miniseries on HBO, not sure of the air date. And no, I've had this handle (or some variant thereof) for decades. Only first read Game of Thrones a couple months ago.

So is the Game of Thrones thing the same as A Song of Ice and Fire? I've been stupid excited about that since I heard about it. I've never read any of the books and don't know a thing about them... But HBO is doing fantasy!

Thats one step away from HBO doing sci-fi.

How bout a comedy.

Galaxy Quest
The entire cast works well with each other.  An obvious parody of Star Trek that is actually very well done.
Tim Allen                                - Kirk
Sigourney Weaver                    - Uhura
Tony Shalhoub                        - Scottie
Alan Rickman                           - Spock
Sam Rockwell                          - Red Shirt
Daryl Mitchell                          - Wesley Crusher/Sulu

Rainne Wilson makes a couple cameo appearances too.  The villain voiced Zaeed in ME2.

Shaolin Soccer: Silly, funny, heartwarming

Beverly Hills Ninja: Funny "idiot succeeds in spite of himself" ninja movie

Kickass Funny/Action, a bit bloody, coolest little girl of all time

The Incredibles Superhero parody

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure: Classic 80's comedy

Shaun of the Dead British parody of zombie movies

I'd like to recommend Minority Report as well, for being one of the most interesting sci-fi films I've ever seen. It's also refreshing for the fact that it's an action movie in which the lead character doesn't kill half the world for a change.

From comedies Hot Rod is very good, also 40 year old virgin, and almost anything from Jack Black
From drama i would reccomend K-Pax an excelent movie that does plenty of mindscrewing.
From others i would also say District 9, Alluda Mazaaka(totally this, a 1995 telugu film where the main charachter is so badass Chuck Norris looks like a pink dress in comparison), Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy as a great comedy, Mega shark vs Giant Octopus for the ultimate in trash monster movies.
