Duel of the Dwarves
« on: November 21, 2010, 04:34:11 am »

The idea is to have 2 groups of dwarves. 1 side and the other side. The goal of the 2 sides is to beat the other side.
You can use any methods to destroy the opposing group of dwarves. The dwarves live in 2 different burrows and they aren't allowed to actually touch the other sides belongings. So I guess the most efficient ways of destroying the other side is flooding it, leading clowns from the circus to make sure the other side has loads of fun and... I don't know... collapsing their half of the field into the caverns below or the magma sea? Be creative!
Just choose your side, you can offer suggestions on what that side should do and even take control of 1 dwarf on your side who you and only you control.
I am usually not in control of anything. I am just the messager. I just forward your commands to the dwarves, and can show you pictures of stuff. But if 1 side will get too big of an advantage I might help somehow...
The control of new dwarves is argued over. There are a lot of possibilities so don't be afraid to offer some suggestions on what to change or add in the rules.
I am using version 31.16, Dwarf Therapist and Stonesense. I don't have a good computer so the embark can be a max of 10 tiles and we can have a max of 40 dwarves...
Give your suggestions on the map generation, where to embark and what and who to take.
I would also be happy if you wouldn't keep too many animals and if you would accept to have a smaller embark or less dwarves but it's not required.

Wow... No replies at all in more than 24 hours... Is the idea bad? Should I just lock this and give up hope to ever create something good?

Protip: Saying that you actually broke a promise by making this thread (and the promise itself was about not starting nor joining any and all DF games) dosen't really make the game better. Or more attractive.

Why wouldn't it work? Where do you see the flaws? I think I explained everything but I may have missed a thing or 2.

Ok then, here's a challenge for you:

Quote from: Magma Wiki
Fort wars!

    * The initial 7 create 2 forts on opposite sides of a map.

    * After the initial 7, 1/2 of all immigrants get assigned to a burrow that encompasses one of the forts. New children get assigned to their parents fort. Each fort is self sustaining and produces their own goods. Then it turns into a competition to see which fort can produce the most wealth.
    * Nobles are given free reign and will be quartered in the winning fort.
    * Make a giant wall separating the forts above ground. On one side of the wall is an artificial lake made of water and on the other, one made of magma. Call forts Reliable.Excavation.Demolition and Builders.League.United.

Well... That's no fun if they just gather wealth... We breed dwarves to make them suffer... And it's hard fighting myself... But really... Should I lock this? No one seems to like it.
