Mod for new Dorfy Creatures
« on: March 17, 2011, 02:13:22 pm »

I need some more practice with creatrues, so anyone interested in a mod adding a ton of underground domestics for dorfs?

I'm thinking, cave tortoises (Done before AFAIK, but I like the idea), cave crabs, some sort of cave bird chicken thing, some cave cow equivalent stuff, maybe an underground cat/dog equivalent, etc. All roaming the caverns or available as domestic animals.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

I like this a lot- cave tortoises are my favorite modded creature so far, and it's always a little disappointing to bust into a cavern only to find it mostly empty. I don't know if every above ground domestic needs to have an equivalent, but a few more definitely couldn't hurt. One of the top of my head that I wish I had thought of before genning a map I really like is an axolotl. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axolotl Peaceful, egg laying, and no doubt tasty. :)

I know what an axolotl is :D

And... I'm going to add one. Yeah! :D

In order to not just steal tortoises, I'll make a crab.

So...

- Cave Crab (Source of shell and tasty meats)
- Axolotl (Expensive dwarven delicacy?)
- Cave Loomer (Big wooly creature. 2 horns, wool, milkable. Cow/Sheep cross basically)
- Winged Hoot (Owl-like thing, tasty eggssses!)
- Striped Colony Spider (Not as big as the giant, not as small as the normal. It's a spider. It makes webs. It can be a pet and trained, and lives in groups. Yes, it has a poisonous bite)
