I've got a dwarf civ listed, and there were Dwarves, Goblins, Humans, and Elves listed on the embark screen. but no caravan has shown yet and fall is about halfway done (22nd Sandstone) and I have an accessible trade depot...does the caravan not come anymore?

It can come pretty late in the season.

No, you remember correctly; it did always come early in the season, usually around the 10th of the first month. Now, though, it comes later, usually in the last half of the last month of the season the caravan should show up in.

Yes, caravans come quite late for me too, it is no surprise when seasons change and the traders have yet to embark home. But the same comes for the next traders so I did not have any caravan traffic jam yet.
