underground farm (how it works with 2010)

hwo was underground farming changet in the new version
i just started a new fortress and i cannot plan any seeds underground
how to grow pulp helmets now?

Wet the ground first. The entire area under the plot needs to be muddied. Aboveground farms do not suffer this restriction however.

Yes. Clearly a bug that ought to be fixed in the future, but exploit it in the meantime.

Ummm you can't build a farm on unmuddied stone, as in the game will literally not allow you to place the plot.

No, but when you reclaim a fortress, the farm will remain while the mud will not.

No, but when you reclaim a fortress, the farm will remain while the mud will not.
Wow, really?  Now we have a way to preserve dirt in caves!

For the OP:  There are a million and one threads on this and new ones are created almost daily.  You could have searched.
