... the dry season has come?
« on: May 05, 2010, 05:08:38 pm »

Right before autumn rolled in on the calendar, I got the following message: "The dry season has come."

I wasn't aware such a thing existed. Also it started to rain again afterwords. Not sure if that's supposed to happen, so I figured I'd ask about that. Is it supposed to rain in dry seasons?

EDIT: Forgot to actually, y'know, ask the question.

I don't think it's necessarily prohibited, you likely just won't get as much rain.

You tend to get this message in hotter biomes, yeah there's not a lot of rain and sources of water will start to evaporate quickly.

I have also seen the rainy season come.

In biomes with not much temperature variation it says "winter / summer has come on the calendar" to clue you that the temperature didn't change like you'd expect in temperate zones.

I've also seen two different messages for season changes, depending on biome.

In a warm/hot Biome, I get things like "Winter has come on the calendar".

In a temperate Biome, I get "Winter is upon you".  And then my brook freezes.

I think it's kinda cool that the first message essentially says "It's technically winter, but it's still hot as <insert your choice of colorful descriptor here>!"
