The xkcd comic page says "Image URL (for hotlinking/embedding): http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/floor.png", so you'd assume that they're ok with it.

Eh, xkcd has gone downhill the last 2 years, this one was somewhat funny, but most new ones are terrible.

XKCD usually has lame jokes, but they're done in topics that other comics rarely touch.  He's got a lot of comics tying together two disparate obscure things, which can be pretty amusing if you get the references.

It's unique enough to be worth reading, IMO.  And occasionally it does pretty good comics in their own right.

I'll admit, it was pretty okay. And i still read his updates every week or so.

For me, i don't find those reference comics too funny... he just picks two things with something minor in common and stuffs them together, like this one with a pop song and sauron. Common denominator - rings.
