Ultimuh's Engravings
« on: May 04, 2010, 09:27:41 pm »

So I have out of boredom decided to post some of my humle works here..
I may not be very good at drawing, and may be even worse at doing so on a PC.
So I set up a small humble corner here at theese parts of the forums.
I will post my.. stuff here from time to time.

but ofcourse, I want to know what other people than myself thinks.

Theese two I did not take much time tough..

The kobold is too doglike for my taste, and it seems to be the same size as the dwarf, whereas as far as I know, they are about 2 feet tall, and it makes it probably half the dwarf's height.
Consider including the descriptions into the pictures, with a fitting font size.

I know the size seem alittle bit off but I'll work on that part.

You should work more on background and building the scene and perspective and all that shit. The characters in the bottom one are pretty okay, but the scene is otherwise kind of bleak. The lack of depth is more pronounced in the top one, where the bridge looks like it was painted on the river and the mountains look like a cardboard backdrop. They could also use some color.

Oh, and, uh, speaking of color, I noticed the top one is saved with 8 bits per pixel, and the bottom one with 32 bits per pixel. This is way more color depth than you need. This doesn't really matter (assuming you never need to save the pics on a magnetic cassette tape or something), and I'm not even sure what kind of options Paint.Net has for it, but I still care about it for no good reason.

Alright, picture 1. take 2.

I made the bridge, as one of the above posts, less like it was painted on the water.
Background eh? well I myself thought it was alittle.. empty..
