anyone know any FBML?
« on: May 06, 2010, 04:10:38 pm »

While following up on a job lead today, someone pulled me out of the hallway into his office and asked me if I knew anything about FBML. Apparently its a programing language similar to HTML. He isnt hiring or anything but i imagine if i can coble together whatever it is he needs there might be some money in it for me.

So, does anyone know anything about this?

It's Facebook's proprietary platform for Facebook applications.
It's essentially just HTML with added functions for integrating with Facebook.

these look like commands. I only just started having a look at this.

I'm used to visual basic and quick basic which had specific programs to implement them. Does this have something along that line? A dedicated editor perhaps?

I see that on Notepad++ there are settings for multiple programming languages. I suppose setting it to HTML would have it start pointing out errors in HTML coding.

well went in and had a talk with the guy. he's looking for someone to do some piece work for him. they are trying to advertise local companies through facebook fan pages. I think its a great idea. The problem is that the person they have thinks that single images make good pages.

example: http://www.facebook.com/pages/North-Bay-ON/Podium-Live/111506838861679
(i was surprised to see a video in the image)

What they want is for me to build a better facebook page that looks nice and is interactive (not just an image) with sections such as food menus, locations, operating hours, an introduction, events and news, a contact us section and any other thing they want to put out there (like what charities they are involved with.

also this is their main website: http://www.podiumlive.ca/

I have just had a look at their main web page. its mostly just plain text. I can do better than that with Word.

I haven't tinkered around with HTML yet (my brother has however and I plan to work together with him) but I'm sure with a little effort I can do better than what they have.
