Yo, I have just gotten into Dwarf Fortress and after several terrible hilarious failures, I started to get the hang of it. But with the failures I realized that the narratives the game can tell are incredible and I was wondering if the Designer of the game would have a problem with me transcribing and creating a story from a fortress.

You'll have to ask Toady or Threetoe to get an official response (they will probably post here tbh), but as far as I am aware they are fine with that sort of thing. They may not like it if you try to sell it for money or anything, but there are plenty of blogs and even a few webcomics based on dwarf fortress.

He doesn't mind now, but once Scamps, Fiend of Kitty takes over his mind (After more failed assassination attempts like the one Toady blogged about recently.) things might be different.

This whole game is a fantasy story generator, so go ahead and write something epic.
