Strength and number of demons grows in relation too dead

Naturally the higher ranking officials that die give a bigger boost to demon strength than a peasants death would.

Do you mean demons or monsters in general?   I don't see why killing dwarves would suddenly spawn more demons.

Nobles are evil, and therefore go straight to Hell.  Where they feel compelled to return to their place of death.

Demons only and not spawn more suddenly, If you havent uncoverd them yet and alot of dwarves die, then the number that will appear when you release them will be larger and more deadly...If im explaining this thought correctly.

That could actually be cool, make a new demon, and spawn one for each dwarf in your fortress that has died.  They could be Lemures, or something along those lines.  Or make a demon called Legion, that's more powerful for each dwarf that dies.

Everyone loves killing there dwarves but from the little guys perspective not so fun, this would give you consequences for drowning er hitting the wrong lever cuz your noble wants a friggin backpack operation set up...

Also the endgame swarm really is not difficult to overcome if you prepare this would make things...more interesting!

I think that rather than dwarf deaths the number of demons sould be tagged to the wealth of your fortress... if you breach the pits when your fortress is a small hole with 3 stone mugs in it then you would only get one demons. If, however, you breach the pits when your fortress is a massive underground city with golden statue's lining the roads and a zoo full of goblin kings, the demon attack should be huge.

Also, I'm not sure if it happens now but the pits should spawn demons more than once.

Honestly I'd kinda like it to be set upon world creation, given that the demons having been sealed there are historical peoples.

I agree with the capt'n.

Those deamons are there from ages before, nothing the dwarves do will have much influence on them....save for digging them up.

Deamon worship (as will probably be handled in the religion arc) may allow for 'taming' of demons?

That said,
A legion-demon may be cool, or demons named after nobles that caused the death of innumerable dwarves, but only after a breach, which allows for interaction with the world.
