Hi guys,

Me and my friends are developing TBS game, which visually resembles Warlords III, but is much more complex in it's nature.
I know you guys like epic freak games like DF  ;D (either do I!). So I hope you will like this one too. At least give it a try and tell me what you think.  ;)

Decided to add a screen shot (there are more in the project site's gallery).
It was a heavy battle: Dark Forces were assaulting Dwarven Strongholds.

I don't know how this is getting so little attention, it looks great!  Unfortunately, I'm on my dad's computer until my get's back from the Toshiba repair depot, so I can't download it at the moment.

Out of curiosity, is there some kind of tutorial or introductory text or something?  I find TBS games to be one of the most difficult to pick up on without some help...

On the Wall is a Masterfully engraved carving of Urist McHardcastle and Goblins. Urist McHardcastle is surrounded by the Goblins. The Golbins are stamping on Urist McHardcastle. Urist McHardcaste is laughing at the Goblins. The carving related to the prolonged and bloody death of Urist McHardcastle in the Fall of 1659, the Winter of 1659, and the Spring of 1660. On the engraving is an image of Cheese.

We are implementing some tutorial missions at the moment. While they are in progress, we will update our web site to contain some sort of beginners guide.

Basically, the game flow is like this:
At start you own several castles. On first turn you receive a hero for free.
You castles are producing 4 light swordsmen if you are playing for the race of Men
(or 2 heavy axemen if playing for the race of Dwarves). Let's leave Dark Forces aside (they are another story  ;) ). Now you can change production in you castles to produce: archers, spearmen, cavalry and etc. You need money to produce troops and pay upkeep. In general, you get money from your castles (mines and windmills also bring income).
In addition to that you can go with your hero and search 'sites' for treasure.

Now gather your troops with nearest neutral castle and try to attack :).
Probably you will fail miserably - castles are tough. But fortunately you have an option to produce catapults. Bring them on and have fun bombing neutral castle, killing garrison and civilians, burning food.

I downloaded and played, but I guess forgot to comment on this. I tried playing around a little but all I accomplished doing was getting my hero killed in a dungeon? Also the map I played on was HUGE. Too huge. I had too many forts to try to keep track of (not that I knew what anything was).
I'll give this another try when you get some tutorial missions up  ;)

 :) Indeed, our fault, maps are huge, most of them are designed for 2vs2 battles.
To satisfy the need for a single player tutorial we added an online tutorial and uploaded new build on our web site:

Have a look at our new tutorial section. A friend of mine wrote a nice guide that I hope will shed a light on what the game is all about.

For the time being we are working on tutorial/campaign engine that would allow us to create in-game tutorial missions.

Finally, we released new version with nice installer, music, many bugfixes and (what's more important!) one tutorial mission.  :)

As a matter of personal preference, I think hex is way better than squares.
Otherwise, this looks great.
I'll probably try it out next time I'm on a computer than can actually do anything.

Thank you. I agree, hex map is probably a better alternative to squares. However, historically it happened so that we used squares. Apparently because we were influenced by such games as Warlords I-III and M.A.X.
And now it is too much of a burden to change - technically and conceptually.
