Stocks on Manager job screen
« on: December 03, 2006, 01:09:00 am »

It would be really nice if, once you have a Bookkeeper, the Manager "New Job" screen would show you how many you had of each component of the job.

For example, I often want to cut gems, but I want to leave some rough gems of each type available. When I'm setting the quantity of rubies to cut, it would be great if the screen showed the number of rough rubies I currently have.

Or say I'm about to order up 20 steel bars, but I only have 15 pig iron bars on hand, it would be nice to see that so I know to make more pig iron.

It would also be nice for the quantity prompt page to list how many of the job item I already have completed.

I know that I can already check these numbers by using the Bookkeeper's screens, but there's a lot of jumping back and forth.

If I remember there's a lot of blank space when you are entering the quantity for the manager.  It could be used for something like this.  There are also suggestions about linking work orders to buildings and so on.  It would be nice to have a work order interaction screen perhaps, where you can see/set all these things.

For steel bars, you can queue up make coal/make iron/make pig iron/make steel, each repeating, and it'll only stop if you run out of raw materials (coal/hematite/limestone).
