That way it can be easy to look at the historical maps of where the kindoms are, once the civilizations show up. And to know a bit about who's who on the immigration waves. And that last hoard of goblins, where's their tower? Has it's influence been growing over the past 100years, or is it in recession? Because maybe I'de like to embark where I can aid in their destruction.

Also, when Legendary artifacts with historical reference appear, it would be nice to look it up and see it in perspective.

And eventually, it would be really cool to have some impact on history. Maybe taking caravans of babies off to sell to the troublemakers that are harrassing an enemy for me. Paving roads across the world, one embark zone at a time.
