Problems with finished goods stockpile
« on: April 14, 2010, 11:25:23 pm »

I set up a finished goods stockpile that had metals disabled, and only stone material enabled.  I have a craftdwarf workshop continuously creating rock crafts but they're never moved to the stockpile, there is exactly one bin there though.  How can I get crafts moved out of that workshop?

Did you leave all the types and quality stuff enabled?  Do you have someone with nothing better to do then haul?

There seems to be some bugs with stockpiles in this version.  I had a stone block only stockpile, and nobody ever moved a single block to it despite being idle and able to path to the workshops.  Also, are you actually getting rock crafts?  Some people have been getting iron things when they were expecting another metal.  I had a bonecrafter in a mood produce an iron figurine.. from bones.

Look in the orders menu if u have any hauling disabled.
I accedently pressed a button there and had the same problem with food.

Check that the Allow Plant/Animals & Allow Non-Plant/Animals under Additional Options didn't get disabled; this happened to me with ore stockpiles.

Thanks guys,

all types and quality enabled, haulers available.
There are rock crafts
hauling isn't disabled in the orders menu.
both of the additional options are enabled.

Any other ideas?

You could build a new craftsshop and demolish the old one.
This should help with clutter, unfortunately it does create a mess.
Possibly the strewn about items are more likely to be hauled than those stored inside as shop.

Allowing all types of materials made it work basically, but I'd prefer to not have bins with wooden items (elf problems).

If its the same as with blocks then the problem is this:
You permit Stone block only and nothing is never brought to stockpile.
Workaround is that you permit from "metal block" all the types of stone you want or only forbit metals from "metal block" menu. Probaply some mistake from toady that will fix in the near future.
