Actually, getting animals drunk - maybe even to the point where it poisons them to death, and beyond - and harvesting their blood to make exotic, high-value booze, seems quite dwarfy and reminiscent of a certain variety of high-price coffee iRL.

Also, has anyone considered using booze and cage traps?

If I see any boozing critters on my map, I am definitely doing this.  Just wondering- will the animals go for booze that has been dumped by your dwarves (and forbidden), or does it need to be in a stockpile?

Seeing as they'll go after stuff in the trade depot I see no reason why it'd have to be stockpiled.

It would be cool if they vomited all over your drink stockpile after drinking some booze, so people know who the culprit was.
