Nether caps are cold to the touch, that is [MAT_FIXED_TEMP:10000]
I wonder where it could be used? As in noticed

Still, Bear barrels are now my #1 choice of catapult ammunition.

Also, one might chill feverish dwarves with Nethercaps.

In 40d you can create critters with reactions.
In 0.31.01 you can move product to container.

What happens if you combine this methods?

would a floor made of a cold substance be able to free liquid on top of it?

bridge with water dropped on top, then simply open the bridge and let the ice fall down.

You now have a crazy awesome near-automatic siege weapon.
