What, you thought that conquering Hell would be easy? You're gonna have to rely on dwarf power. Besides, they could be magma-proof.

I wanted to flood the world with magma right up to the edge of the map.  :(

Also, there's the matter of demons; they're kinda plentiful.  Once you wipe out the initial assault squad, they'll still wander in from the edges at time to time.

I found from the past fort that using one powerful creature against another would just lead to a stalemate.
but that's mostly do to having wrestling BC won't kill squat unless the demon off them selves in their own attack.
so hopefully I can get a bunch of Axebronze and truly have a unstoppable force and rule over hell or if that don't work give up and just dig down as goblins and share it.

I know the odds of me getting one is zil, but my eventual strategy for hell is to capture a Bronze Collosus into a cage and then somehow drop it through the pit into hell.

I realize this can't possibly work in a useful way, but on the other hand, I'd love to make the damn thing useful, and for all I know thats -why the gods Armok created them-.

Make bronze colossi be wandering creatures that periodically wander onto your map from the wilderness.

One season you might have hoary marmots. The next season a wolf. Season after that, a bronze colossus.

Since creatures' temperature vulnerabilities are based on materials rather than specifically creature data now, there's a chance demons may be vulnerable to magma now. Someone should dump magma on them and see if Toady remembered to add a few tags to demons that makes all of the materials they're made out of fire resistant, like Dragons have.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I've seen a whole horde of demons just into a magma sea and swim around for a while. Included a Snow Devil or somesuch if I recall right. I think they're all magma-proof.

There's only one solution, and it's fucking awesome.

Like, you don't even know, bro dude man. Like, dude.

All your dwarves are military dwarves. After you get your third migrant wave, start a rotation. One third of your fortress is in the military at all times, once they've trained to decent demon fighting levels undraft them. Then draft another third of your fort and do the same. Repeat until your entire fortress i trained to be badass. Arm/armor all of them... then... breach hell and draft everyone.

It will be like Moria, but so much fucking cooler.

how about a shaft with floodgates on both sides, one with water, one with magma, all connected to a single lever
(save first) release the demons and then flip the lever.  encase them all in obsidian!  has to be a reasonably long shaft, though, with a good amount of pressure.

Does knocking them out on while on top of cage traps still work? Or can you even knock them out anymore?

If this does not work, what about pressurized water? If you get the water pressurized enough, then bust it open onto the demons, you'd think it would at least knock some into the glowing pits.

If this too does not work, what about trying to collapse the magma sea on them? It would take a long time and a good bit of digging in the right spots, but in theory, it should be possible, should it not?

Yikes, the Orcs have a nasty language.  Traditional foreplay would be right out for them; how would they ever "say my name" for one another?  No wonder Ocrs are always so bloodthirsty and violent, they're getting sub-par action.

There's actually no need to rotate with the new military system. Just set it to only 1 or 2 dwarves training at a time, and most of them will continue to work as normal while occasionally training.

or get the bowflex workshop addon install it and train them to be powerful.
