Alright, am I totally insane, or do elk birds target anyone of the smithing profession and flee from everyone else?  I've had 2 weaponsmiths killed, an armorsmith seriously injured, and a furnace operator mildly wounded by this one bird, but it runs from my military and I can't seem to kill it.  none of my other dwarves have even been so much as scratched by the thing. 

Am I insane?  Because this is an awfully maddening set of conincidences if this isn't a feature...

The elk bird is jealous because it can't smith anything, and really wants to.
Earlier, I opened up the HFS and a voracious cave crawler (not even a threat) decided to nom on my militia leader's leg.

I wonder... are elk birds teritorial? are your smiths stealing rocks from an area they consider their teritory? If so, thats increadably funny.
