I'm getting 40-60fps.

Don't forget baughn's accelerator; he's updated it for 2010 as a stopgap till the graphics merge.

Thanks for the G_FPS_CAP tip.  Lowering it from the default 50 to 10 raised my fps up from 40 to 100 (and probably higher once I remove the cap)

I didn't notice any slow-down from the older versions (though, I haven't really compared).
It's good enough!

DF Accelerator totally helped.  I refused to turn off weather, and when I added the .dll file from the accelerator, it dramatically improved system performance.

Also, if anyone with a multi-core processor hasn't done so already, try out setting the affinity for dwarfort.exe to a single CPU (do it through Windows Task Manager->Processes->right-click dwarfort.exe).  I usually set DF to one CPU, and Firefox and explorer.exe to a different one.  Setting this up made noticeable improvements.

Helps a lot. Using WINE on a Mac until the Mac/Linux version is ready, I went from 15-35 fps to 60-90fps.
