Engraved CONSTRUCTED Walls and Floors
« on: March 05, 2008, 09:21:00 pm »

I'm tired of not being able to build engraved walls or floors. I have area, where I mined out a mineral, gem, and outside areas, where I constructed walls and floors, but they cannot be engraved. This lack of engraving effects the quality of the rooms and makes some of my cave construction look inconsistent.

Smooth out where you are going to place the wall, then engrave the floor which the wall will be placed on.

It may look odd and out of place, but if you want the quality to go up, that's the way to do it.

This has been suggested many times since rewalling came in, as recently as last week.   Please try to skim previous threads before making a new one in the future.

Sorry, how do you suggest to search for duplicates? I sometimes find it difficult.

Skim the forums back a few pages (10 or so) and use the search feature, I guess.   Asking in the IRC as well.

Or perhaps we should be able to use tapestries?  I know about using ropes as makeshift tapestries, but I want the real deal.

I'm not sure that you could turn that into this:

On the other hand, engravers could engrave images onto blocks beforehand. That would make some sense.</STRONG>

There should be rough block walls that couldn't be engraved... and smooth ones that can.

The difficulty is that then people would complain about a necropost.

They should not be complaining if the previous thread's most recent post was less than ~ 2 months ago.  Resurrecting a request thread from the 2D version might be iffy, but anything from the 3D version is fair game.
