also, it would be cool if it was like in the earlier versions where the good stuff was only down deep and you had to dig to get it.  like maybe the first few layers are usually just plain stone (good for building basic rooms and stuff), then as you get deeper you get more interesting stones and minerals, then finally the most valuable stuff at the bottom
