It would be great if when religion is more fleshed out that priests to gods could perform sacrifices of animals, captured enemies, and your own children...

Or vegetables.. like plump helmets.. and trees..
Sacrifice some trees the moment the elven caravan arrives, and have the altar close to the trade depot.  ;D

Personally, I'd rather slay screaming elven merchants and goblin POWs over an +Obsidian Altar+ than sacrifice a vegetable. Really, all sacrifices would be dedicated to the god of blood anyway.

Seems like this is something that would fit in more with the Goblins, what with their demonloving and whatnot. The dwarves being typically good, its kind of hard to see them sacrificing live creatures.
That aside, it would be awesome :D

Well, for story telling purposes, sometimes you just want to have you dwarf sacrifices a ton of goblins.
Assuming each goblin probably weighs 25 Kg, I'm guessting around 40 goblins.
Maybe make that 100 tons of goblins, 4000 goblins.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

I think it's been irrefutably demonstrated that dwarves are chaotic neutral.

Yay! I'm chaotic neutral, too!

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.
