It's too late now, but I had that when one of the children in my fort got possessed.  He wanted bones.  A lot of bones.  All of the bones from a donkey and a puppy, because that's what I had available to sacrifice for the artifact.  I think he took like 20 bones.

On the plus side, it was a wood figurine of a guy who'd become the king of my civilization in the year 350-something, with a bunch of bone artwork on it.  It was pretty cool.  And then something happened about half an hour later and the game shut down.  Wish I could guess at what caused that, because it's probably the kind of thing that needs reporting.

Ok, so I too have one of these mooders asking for "body parts." I understand my course of action should be to butcher a cat. I only see options to butcher a corpse though. How might I go about killing the cat so as to be able to butcher it? I tried to [k]ill it will my military, but it refused to allow me to do so....

Z status menu, animals, hit B over the animal you want to slaughter.  Note that you cannot use this to butcher pets.
