Tiny mountain halls
« on: April 04, 2010, 08:53:46 pm »

I've explored three dwarven mountain halls on the map in Adventure mode, and...
Rather than the usual layout, of long corridors with lots of branching rooms...
There are, invariably, roughly half a dozen floors of a single room each, containing the ramps to the floors above and below.
...
Anyone else noticed this? Is something wrong here?

Yeah, the historical dwarves seem to dig that out, then they spend the entire time standing all around just outside of the town.

I get a bit more than two lower rooms usually, but not many - and they're really tiny.
In 40d, each floor was a huge sprawling mass of corridors and rooms - impossible to find anyone, but kinda fun.
But even then, they didn't have shops - I hope they do someday. So if you're a dwarf in adventure mode and haven't/don't want to run a whole fortress first, you aren't stuck with crappy armor for the rest of the game.

i believe goblins have had the 'narrow' tag removed so that dwarfs can wear their stuff, go clean out a tower and take the armor of their leader.

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...
It should be pretty fun though.
