[0.31.01] 'Black' text cannot be read

Hi guys, am using one of versions that come pre-packaged with Mayday graphics, but some of the capital letters and numbers are not displayed? It is a text problem or a display problem? Also some tiles are blacked out as well...

I've noticed this happening after genning a new world.  Simply restarting DF solved the issue for me.
