It helps in military drills, so you'll maybe want to make your dwarf with the highest Teaching score the squad leader (if there isn't anybody with good combat skills available).

Understood, then. Very useful to know! I have an axedwarf with adequate teaching who trained himeslf from adequate axedwarf to skilled in quite a short time. Might be useful to spread the knowledge.
