So i'm working on a race of lobster men, and i'm trying to find a way to make it so their claws can grab, and then crush body parts. So far they bludgeon people, etc. I've tried labeling pincers with the "Mouth" tag in the body parts, which produces a decent effect (The Lobsterman 1 bites the Dwarf in the head with it's left pincer) and it's neat because it can latch, which is kind of like what I want, but not the same. Anyone know if this would be at all possible? Also, i think it'd be cool to give the lobster men 2 different pincers (One for crushing, one for cutting) like actual lobsters have.

Post your Current code please? it would help  then everyone trying to help you wont have to make there own lobsters

I made them stronger, on account of their massive claw things, and they (In my entity raws) can't use all of the weapons, having custom "Pincer" weapons that use the axe skill. Also harpoons. The use toy boats, Claw Cymbals and Didgeridoos. Etc.
Figured out that I can just slap a "CANLATCH" flag onto the lobsters bludgeon attack, so he will shake people around with his claws. Also i've made a new type of chitin that's a bit stronger, so the lobster doesn't need to wear armor (How could they?)

I made it so they could start civs so I could have sea side villages. Etc.

I think Squeegy is asking why because [INTELLIGENT] already implies [CAN_SPEAK] and [CAN_LEARN].  I can't remember if it implies [CAN_CIV] but I think it does.  So you've got repeat code there.

Oh, yeah, I had the other 3 in first and then threw in intelligent without cleaning anything up. All I know is that when custom buildings for adventure mode roll around, I want me some driftwood/sand huts for the lobster men, and broken boats. (Though there aren't boats in DF. Yet.) It's pretty cool grabbing people with the massive claws and shaking them around. I grabbed a trog by the head and shook it around until I tore it's head off.
