I can't get my archer to carry bolts

He carries a quiver, and also a crossbow, and I went into ammunition and I think I set it up appropriately, and that he uses the iron ones to train and combat but he's yet to train with them, or use them to kill anything.

Help?

Did you put training into his squad's schedule?

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

It looks like his schedule is only training.

Also, he doesn't even pick them up when I order him to kill things, he just tried to wrestle them.

Yeah, this is not such a simple thing anymore. You have to go to his ammo setting in the military screen. You can set any kind of bolts for combat and/or training. I think it defaults everything to both.

Yeah, I did that in the military screen and his squad has both bone and iron bolts set as both combat and training (and any other possible combination) but he just won't pick them up.

Do you have an arsenal noble who is not currently busy, I believe you need them to give out ammo.

Yeah I've heard people mention that.  I don't seem to have one in my list.

Looking at manager and what I can recall from posts, I believe that your manager is responsible for giving out ammo.
