Not to downplay the awesomeness of this discovery, but it is a pretty weird bug (or maybe a feature?) that should be reported to Toady.

I wonder if there is a situation that can achieve the stuck to the wall message that does not involve quantum dwarf physics?

Maybe if you survive getting smacked into a wall with a adamantine hammer?

Wow.  Your adventurer has become HFS.  Quick, engrave something disturbing on the walls of your prison.

"I must go fight the HFS!" said Led. "No Led, you are the HFS." And then Led was underground.

Reading this, it just occurred to me that this could be the same bug that causes items dumped into flowing liquids to 'vanish'. :O

I thought it's a good idea to alt-jump into a river (Legendary swimmer and such) which was 2 z-levels below my adventurer, but she fell unconcious and when she woke up she was in this box.
I think it has something to do with the z-level drop before hitting the water... I just got an intriguing idea for a test.

Set up a 'dive zone' (Platform for the adventurer to jump off), and mine out (not channel) each floor below the jump with a clear way of measuring how many z-levels one has fallen (carve out a number or something?).
Then jump in with an adventurer, and see just how many floors you've fallen. My bet's on either the floor below the river, the bottom of the map, or somehow 'in' the river.

I'm curious what the barely conscious ai wrote about.
Well that went better than expected.  He went nuts and punched a rabbit to death, then the dogs and the whole dining hall ripped him to shreds.

I say make a copy of the save and have a 24 hour crack team working around the clock to figure out why the hell this has happened
