Quick Questions Quick Answers
« on: March 25, 2010, 07:43:57 pm »

Maybe we could use a single thread for simple questions, like "How to add new body parts?".

And I have a question, btw :P
Is it possible to make armor that covers only the neck? And another armor that covers only the tail?

I don't believe so, you can't specify a single bodypart for armour to cover.

how does one make it so that a civilization would choose to live in new places, such as evil or desert biomes? I want saguaro wood and silver barbs to show up in my caravans!

You would need to modify the entity raws for that civilization, adding tokens like [USE_EVIL_PLANTS], [USE_EVIL_ANIMALS] and [USE_EVIL_WOOD] for evil materials, and [BIOME_SUPPORT:ANY_DESERT:10] for desert plants.  The wiki has more information on tokens.

You would also need to add [EVIL] to the creature definition if you wanted them to settle in evil biomes.

if they don't have the [EVIL] tag but they do have the [USE_EVIL_somethings] tag, will they still bring evil things?

I'm not altogether certain.  I would think that since lacking the [EVIL] tag means they won't settle in an evil biome, then whether or not they're allowed to take evil goods is a moot point.

They ought to bring animals from around their locale, so it's possible, but unlikely. You could make some evil animals with [COMMON_DOMESTIC] and they'll bring those, if they have the evil animals tag.
