Ah, it's great watching the reactions of someone new enough to DF to still hold childlike wonder. :)

I had a fire imp launch a fireball at a caravan guard at one point and ignite a whole dry savanna.  Hastily-zoned dirt roads make excellent firebreaks, although my dwarves weren't in any particular danger.
