leaky light and indoor/outdoor issues
« on: March 25, 2010, 10:42:54 pm »

It would be nifty if there were at least to levels of light: actually light, and lit by adjacent light.  Functionally, they would both be light, but lit squares would have a hangover tomorrow not continue to "bleed" the light any farther.

Something similar for inside/outside would be good, too.  Having a single-tile-wide bridge of natural rock 3 z-levels above the ground with nothing else around should not leave "light/inside" squares under it!

You know, there was a light suggestion thread that was just second on the list when you posted this, which was talking about things like the angle of light and such...

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.

Toady already said this is on his to-do list.
Just not a high priority right now.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

Yeah, but it was completely insane - a "day" in DF is 1200 steps.  On a decent machine, you get several "days" per minute!

I didn't look much farther, though, and I should have.  I'll got take a look at those older threads.
