The Mourning Miner
« on: March 23, 2010, 08:45:03 pm »

OK so here is my second attempt at this and I saved this time.
I'll give you guys your dwarves when immigrants come.

Dear Diary,

As we settled in to our new surroundings, Me and Lor began to dig. We managed to establish us a farm. Soon the neighborhood Giant Spider decided to web our wood cutter as he was cutting wood for beds, and he was soon killed. Everyone else soon realized this and we organized our military, however I was asleep and it took me longer to get there... lucky me. As the others got to the spider they got caught in his webs and were quickly slaughtered. I had arrived to late and was unable to rescue my friends. I'm sorry I cant write anymore, I'll write again soon.

From,
Johann

Dear Diary,
After accepting that I have lost my friends, I have begun building a moat that will keep that damn spider out. also I made a nobles chamber for me, seeing how I am the only dwarf that can become leader. It's beginning to feel so quiet that I actually enjoy hearing the giant bats, while still knowing they are killing our, I mean my only source of meat. I will write again as soon as I see more people god I hope that, that time will come soon.

Dear Diary,
A dwarf caravan has actually came here. I spoke with the leader of the caravan and he said that he would get the king to send some new migrants, Hopefully they will get here soon. The only problem is that the moat was a blessing in disguise, and now I had to build a bridge as soon as possible. Well after I secured the bridge I also created a lever just in case the spider had attempted to finish this story off. I feel safe now, except for the fact that the bats fly in from above I'll have to fill the hole in the roof sometime. Well, atleast we now no that

Dear Diary,
Finally Some migrants! It took them a year but I don't care. I finally don't have to constantly be alone. I'm so happy. I can't write anymore, I'm gonna go say hello to them.

Johann

Dear Diary,
This isn't long after our previous writing session, but in an attempt to protect our selves and rid the world of the Giant spider we mounted a futile attack where we lost 3 peasants... Wait they were just peasants, fuck them.

Still working on trying to dump the stones... I hate my OCD

Hard to see but thats the graves for everyone I killed. planning on creating a larger area for the nobles that the underground river will dump into for some mist, so it will look serene

Going to also create an artificial waterfall here so that the lowly weaklings have a place to "hang"

So far only our survivor has a room here working on dumping the stones and prettying it up. gonna channel some water in there for a gentle stream, help with morale and such
