I'm pretty bad with spelling, but that's mostly because I'm pretty heavily dyslexic. I try though, I'll read through what I'm writing a few times, plus I'll throw shit through spell checkers.

But nothing set my rage to level ten like a spelling nazi. I'm sorry but I've had years and years of people going "ZOMG learn to spell lol!", and it has gotten less and less funny each time.

My mother's ... extremely dyslexic, and yet I'm still a spelling Nazi.  You can usually tell when someone is intentionally spelling poorly, and when they simply can't get it right.  As such, my ire is carefully directed ;)

A reasonable spelling Nazi should be able to tell the difference and know when to bother someone, and when not to =)  I'm sorry that you seem to have met only the really annoying kind.

I don't know if I am a Grammar/Spelling Nazi, but it does irk me. Whenever I see a mistake, especially when it's a misplaced apostrophe ("There were so many dog's!" "I ca'nt believe it!" "Im' amazed at you'r pen!" etc.), I may not actually tell the perpetrator or be rude at him, but I do go about the rest of the day feeling vaguely uncomfortable and slightly annoyed. If the errors are so rampant that it's illegible, I try to bring it up politely.

And I've seen some terrible spellers. As an example, I once met a person of about high school age that was unable to spell "holiday". Not to mention the fact that I have to drudge through peoples' documents and correct the sometimes absolutely awful things they've done.

When the apocalypse happens, we're all going to be bickering about a misplaced apostrophe.

And it will be worth it if they just stop being so annoying with their spelling.

I've played some mafia.

Most of the time when someone is described as politically correct they are simply correct.
